An article recently published on The Guardian shed light on the findings from the biggest ever mental health poll of UK university students.

There was some alarming facts uncovered from the poll of 38,000 university students:

  • 50% reported thoughts on self-harm 
  • 1 in 10 students thought of self-harm often
  • 44.7% reported using alcohol or drugs to cope with problems (whilst 1 in 10 stated they did this often)
  • 1 in 3 experienced psychological issues which they felt they needed help for
  • 87% stuggled with anxiety
